The rose bush – original painting

Meaning:

I know that I am guilty of when looking at a plant, admiring the flowers and ignoring the rest. I think this is something that we can all do. However, if we consider the plant, the flowers couldn’t bloom if the leaves weren’t there to photosynthesise, or the stems weren’t there to act as a skeleton and hold the plant together.

What I’m trying to say, in a very metaphoric way, is that it’s easy easy to spot initial aesthetic positives of something, rather than delving deeper and truly understanding somethings value. By focussing on the leaves, and having the flowers not take centre stage for once, I hope this acts as a reminder for what true value can sometimes be; not just a bloom, but perennial value.
