Path to Melford shows a scene from off the beaten track of the old railway line between Sudbury and Melford. The path is one that eventually ends up at the bridge at the bottom of Ballingdon Hill. Having gone for a walk with my sister, the tranquility of this scene felt an essential to capture.

I have taken keen inspiration from both Pierre Bonnard and Claude Monet on this piece, looking to emulate their powerful use of colour and movement.

Original painting using acrylic on canvas. Edges of artwork are painted with framing hooks added to the back, to avoid the requirement for framing if that is not your preference.
