Hunstanton II is the second piece in my collection of paintings dedicated to the north Norfolk coast.

Photographed in May this year, this was originally shot during the May heatwave and half term, and really specially for me, on the day that I got engaged! I think the joy of the day subliminally entered this piece through its use of colour, with the vibrant tones reflecting the happiness of the day, the heat, as well as the energy in the surrounding landscape. This was on the walk back from Heacham to Hunstanton, where we could start to smell the donuts, hear the music from the rides on the seafront and shrieks of joy and laughter from those enjoying a day out. The magic of that day is one that I was desperate to capture.
