Final Walk came from an initial sketch that inspired my nan. Based on a local path on a walk near my home, she felt that the piece was a metaphor for life – lots of light, shadows of darkness and a path leading into the unknown. This piece gave her a lot of comfort, which inspired me to put this onto canvas, to immortalise that feeling towards the future, death and what happens next.
